WCS Technology Integration

Welcome

As the first week of school rapidly approaches, I’d like to take a few minutes to introduce myself and my role at WCS.

I have recently graduated from Cornell University with my Master’s degree in Education. My focus areas were Instructional Design and Educational Technologies. While at Cornell, I developed and taught a class for beginning teachers within the Education Department. This course focused on the utilization of technology in the K-12 classroom.

I have always been very interested in technology and feel it plays a very important role in education. Though I feel technology can be misused as a teacher replacement, I do believe it has a great role in the classroom. I plan to use this blog (web log) as a way to keep the district and the greater educational technology community connected. Stay posted and look for weekly updates, occasional podcasts, and links to interesting articles and websites.

So far the district has been very welcoming! I look forward to working with the faculty in all three buildings while introducing new educational technology practices.
